A world map that reads in English, everywhere
AngloTiles is a map basemap where every place name is in English, whatever country you're looking at. No switching between alphabets, no squinting at accented names your users can't type. Just one map they can actually read.

What it does
English labels only
Towns, regions, seas and countries all named in English, the same language the rest of your site is in.
The whole world
One basemap everywhere, so the Aegean reads the same as the Baltic or the Caribbean.
Standard XYZ tiles
Plain {z}/{x}/{y}.png tiles that drop straight into Leaflet, OpenLayers, MapLibre or anything else that speaks XYZ.
Quiet by design
Muted colours that keep land, sea and labels clear, so your own markers and routes are what stand out.
Quick to load
Tiles are pre-rendered and cached, then served over HTTPS, so panning and zooming stays smooth.
Your own key
Each client gets their own key, so you can tie it to a site and keep an eye on usage.
Why English-only?
Most global basemaps label places in their local language and script. That's the right default for a local audience, but on an English-language travel site it means a customer browsing the Greek islands, the Turkish coast and the Adriatic sees three different alphabets on three maps. AngloTiles keeps every label in English so the map matches the rest of your product.
We built AngloTiles for our own travel software. It's the basemap behind the SeaRoute demo, and we made it available as a standalone tile service for other English-language sites and apps.
