It matches the proper margin group and selling profile for the channel, source and brand, so the price in search is the price at checkout.

Prices are worked out ahead of time and held in Elasticsearch, so search, filters and calendars stay quick even at volume.
Updated through the day
When a feed lands it only rebuilds its own part of the index. New costs show up during the day instead of waiting for the overnight run.
Rules applied up front
Stop-sale, minimum stay, arrival days and on-request are handled when prices are built, so you don't offer something that can't be booked.
Why we built it
Holiday search is only as good as its prices. When the number someone sees isn't the number they pay, you get failed checkouts, awkward phone calls and a lot of tidying up after the fact. We wanted the price in search to be worked out exactly the same way as the price at booking, using the same costs, margins and rules, so the two can't drift apart.
Because Almanac runs the whole thing itself, it can be fussier than an off-the-shelf cache. It prices every brand and channel from the start, only builds as far ahead as the data actually goes, and reworks just the part that changed when a feed updates rather than grinding through everything each night.
